Artist with a keen eye and unique style, specializes in captivating portraits or plein air landscapes, Kam can be found painting in his Hamilton, Ontario studio, but loves to find inspiring subjects in the wildest places he can find.
I have two goals in Art and in Life: be simple and direct. My works are uncomplicated representations of my view of the world. I have a classical belief in beauty and its restorative powers and insight. The intricate levels of symbolism and metaphors are most effective when used sparingly and subtly.
I use oil and canvas. My subjects are people, places and things – quite often all three. I prefer the Alla Prima method (direct painting from life), although I use photographic reference.
Art is a language. The ultimate goals are communication and connection. I simply want to share my experience and story in an honest and direct way.
